Some questions answered

What should I bring?
This is an informal holiday so casual clothes, a warm sweater for cooler evenings, walking shoes for exploring, soft shoes for in the boat, a waterproof in case it rains - these are the essentials. Soap & towels are provided. As storage space is limited, luggage should, if possible, be kept to one soft bag or case per person.
I travel on my own…
Many of our guests are single travellers. There are no single supplements for our single cabins, and many enduring friendships have begun aboard our hotelboat.
Is it suitable for children?
We do not feel that our cruises are suitable for children.
What about pets?
Our dogs, Foxy & Polly travel with us in the crew quarters, but we are unable to permit guests' pets.
I need a special diet…
We are happy to cater for what you need - low fat, vegetarian etc.- please give us details when you book.
Do you have a bar?
We are not licensed but you are welcome to bring alcohol for your own consumption.
What about smoking?
Smoking is not permitted on Earlswood
Can you charge mobile phones?
We are able to charge mobile phones and camera batteries, but don't forget your charger.
How do I book?
Once you have chosen your holiday, we suggest you ring our office to check on cabin availability and make a reservation. Within a few days send us your completed booking form together with the appropriate deposit, and we will send back our confirmation. Our invoice for the balance due, and detailed joining instructions will be sent to you two months before your holiday.
How do I find the boat?
The starting and finishing points of our cruises are normally within easy reach of a railway station. At some places we are able to arrange car parking with a local boatyard or hotel. We will send you full joining details in good time before your holiday.
When should I arrive?
We will be ready to welcome you on board from 3pm. If you wish to explore the local area, we will be happy to take your luggage earlier. Please let us know. Cruises finish after breakfast on the last day, and you should be ready to leave the boat by 10am, so that we can prepare Earlswood for the next cruise.
